Nuts & Bolts of Nonprofit Board Service

CLE_ Nuts & Bolts of Nonprofit Board Service

Hosted by the Young Lawyers Division as part of the Board Observer Program during National Pro Bono Week

This CLE will provide training on the basics of nonprofit board service, including charitable issues raised under state and federal laws for current board members.

Experience faculty will highlight:
- Fiduciary duties of nonprofit board members
- Tax laws applicable to nonprofits
- Particular Pennsylvania laws related to charitable and nonprofit organizations of which board members should be aware

This discussion will offer attorneys interested in serving on a nonprofit board with an introduction to the role of a Board of Directors and the laws governing nonprofits.

After the 1-hour substantive program, a panel of Executive Directors and Board members of charitable organizations, will share their experiences and give guidance to those who are interested in joining a nonprofit board.

Attendance by Board Observers is encouraged. You may register for CLE, which include lunch, or the lunch only option by clicking on the registration tab to your left.
