Hosted by the Young Lawyers Division
This timely CLE program will address gerrymandering, particularly in Pennsylvania. Panelists will outline how the maps are currently drawn (both state and federal); detail the work performed by Fair Districts PA, and review the proposed bills (SB22 and HB722) advocating for an independent citizens commission via a Pennsylvania constitutional amendment.
In addition, our panelists will examine the past, present and future of redistricting litigation that includes:
- An overview of the key U.S. Supreme Court and Pennsylvania Supreme Court redistricting decisions
- A survey of partisan gerrymandering lawsuits now proceeding in courts around the country
- A discussion of the current Pennsylvania redistricting lawsuit (in which Mr. Geffen represents the petitioners)
Attend this informative CLE program and determine where “the lines are drawn” in the campaign against gerrymandering.
