We are currently living in era of a self-described, "law and order" President and mass incarceration with the "war on drugs" as a significant byproduct. We are witnessing significant casualties from this "war" and not just the incarcerated defendant who is forced to serve jail time but his/her family and loved ones as well. The punishment continues even after the defendant is released from prison because of the stigma of a conviction. Add to this, immigration legislation forcing entire communities into a panic and threatening the stability of families, work forces, education entities and more.
This timely and practical CLE program breaks down the civil consequences of a criminal conviction and analyzes the devastatingly negative impact these consequences can have on your client (and his or her family).
