This program is beneficial for all labor and employment attorneys, whether representing employees or employers, that file cases with the EEOC.
Each year, the number of Charges of Discrimination filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) continues to increase. In Pennsylvania, 4,564 Charges of Discrimination were filed for FY 2016. Litigating these Charges at the agency level and later in court is time consuming and costly. The EEOC offers a voluntary mediation program that provides an efficient and economical alternative to litigation.
This CLE presentation will provide an overview of the EEOC’s voluntary mediation program. Attendees will learn the advantages and disadvantages of participating in the EEOC mediation program. Finally, panelists will provide practical tips for both employees and employers for success in an EEOC mediation.
