This CLE program, presented with the Abolitionist Law Center’s will first address the scope of Hepatitis C nationally and internationally. Featured speakers will then examine the scope of the Hepatitis C epidemic in the United States prison system. Finally, they will Hepatitis C project and how attorneys can become involved.

  • A Breakthrough Cure – Recent Medical Advances Allow Now Allow for the Cure of Hepatitis C

    - Eighth Amendment right to medical care – Legal standard and evidence showing a constitutional violation
    - State medical malpractice law
    - Client intake – health survey and obtaining medical records
    - Medical consultants and experts
    - Preparing litigation: Pre-litigation advocacy, exhausting administrative remedies, filing suit and seeking injunctions
