Summer-Long School Supply Drive

As part of Chancellor Albert S. Dandridge III's Boots on the Ground Community Initiative, the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is continuing the school supply drive launched at the June 9 Quarterly Meeting and Luncheon. Donations will benefit Turning Points for Children, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families in raising safe, healthy, educated and strong children.

Members are encouraged to donate new school supplies at the happy hour or at donation drop-off points at the following firms up until August 13:

2015 Annual Affinity Bar Association Quizzo Championship July 14

Love trivia? Possess a wealth of knowledge about all things obscure? Tired of "proving" your skills by yelling at "Jeopardy" contestants on TV?

Come compete against your friends and colleagues on Tuesday, July 14 at the annual installment of the Affinity Bar Association Quizzo Championship! The Quizzo Championship is presented by the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association and U.S. Legal Support and will be held at Field House at 5 p.m. All are welcome and if you are not a member of one of the participating groups, volunteer your talents to the highest bidder (and consider joining). One hundred percent of the entry fee proceeds go to the winning team's choice of one of the legal public service agencies supported by the Philadelphia Bar Foundation.

Entry fee is $10 and includes one drink ticket, light hors d'oeuvres, networking from 5-6 p.m. and Quizzo starting at 6 p.m. Field House is located at 1150 Filbert St., Philadelphia. LMA Metropolitan Philadelphia Educational Conference July 16

Join the Legal Marketing Association Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter for a half-day educational conference on Thursday, July 16 at The Hub CityView. Registration, breakfast and networking begin at 8 a.m. followed by two break-out sessions where attendees can choose one of three presentations for each session. Speakers will come from various legal marketing and communications backgrounds to present on a wide range of topics including professional development, business development and technology.

6th Annual Justice For All 5K July 19

On Sunday, July 19, Community Legal Services will join forces with Back on My Feet and Philadelphia Legal Assistance to bring you the 6th Annual Justice For All 5K (#JFA5K). This year's #JFA5K will take place at the end of The Stroehmann in24 Race Weekend at 8 a.m., at the Schuylkill River Running Loop, near Lloyd Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (pre-race meeting at 7:45 a.m.). The brand new partnership will allow the #JFA5K to highlight three organizations that provide services and support to an under-served population in the community. Sharing resources can help more low-income Philadelphians get back on their feet and achieve Justice For All.

4th Annual JLC Quizzo Fundraiser July 30

Juvenile Law Center will host its 4th Annual Quizzo fundraiser at Fergie's Pub at 1214 Sansom St. in Philadelphia on July 30 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Teams of 3 to 8 people will compete in a fun, fast-paced game of Quizzo! The first-place team will win $100 off its tab, and the second team will have $50 of its tab covered. Exciting prizes will be raffled off throughout the evening.

AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania 16th Annual Summer Movie Party July 31

Public Speaking for Lawyers, Featuring John Savoth Aug. 6

The art of public speaking is a critical component of a practicing attorney's professional life and very different from courtroom advocacy. This program will help you develop skills to present a coherent, concise message in meetings with potential clients, in public hearings and more.

Mr. Savoth, formerly Of Counsel to Saltz Mongeluzzi Barrett & Bendesky, served as the Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association in 2012. His trial practice focused on personal injury cases involving construction accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, dram shop (bars and taverns) liquor liability and the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). Aside from lecturing on trial practice and the rules of professional conduct, Mr. Savoth has developed his public speaking skills over the last 25 years as an attorney and as Chancellor, where he was called upon to speak to various sized groups on many different topics and issues relevant to the role of the practicing attorney.

Summer Brown Bag Lunch Series

The Philadelphia Bar Association's Public Interest Section Law School Outreach Committee will host the "Summer Brown Bag Lunch Series," from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Philadelphia Bar Association, 11th Floor Conference Center, 1101 Market St. on the following dates: July 16, 23 and 30, and August 6.
