Judge Stabile to Address Appellate Courts Committee Dec. 19
Judge Victor P. Stabile, recently elected to Pennsylvania Superior Court, will share his expectations of becoming a Superior Court judge at the Thursday, Dec. 19 meeting of the Appellate Courts Committee.

WIP to Honor Chancellor Wilkinson Dec. 19
Join the Women in the Profession Committee for a casual and festive gathering honoring the work of Kathleen Wilkinson during her year as Chancellor on Thursday, Dec. 19. Business Law Section Annual Meeting Dec. 23
The Business Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association will hold its Annual Meeting on Monday, Dec. 23 at 12 p.m. at Bar Association Headquarters, 10th Floor Boardroom, 1101 Market St. The business to be conducted at the Annual Meeting is to elect Section officers.
Notice is hereby given to all members of the Business Law Section that the following nominations for Section officers for one-year terms beginning January 1, 2014 will be considered: Graham R. Laub, Vice Chair; Rachel E. Branson, Treasurer; Anne Marie Aronson, Secretary; and Katayun I. Jaffari, Communications Officer. The 2013 Vice Chair of the Section, Michael D. Ecker, will automatically become the 2014 Chair of the Section, as provided in Article III, Section 3 of the Bylaws. E. David Chanin and Sarah B. Gelb will continue to serve their three-year terms begun January 1, 2013. Phyllis Horn Epstein will continue to serve her three-year term begun on January 1, 2012. Curtis L. Golkow is a candidate for a three-year term commencing on January 1, 2014.
Section members may submit additional nominations for the above-stated positions no later than December 18, 2013 by filing a petition, signed by at least 35 members in good standing with the Section. Additional nominations should be sent to Rachel E. Branson, Secretary, Business Law Section, Philadelphia Bar Association, 11th Floor, 1101 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
Business Law Section to Honor Meyers, John Jan. 21
The Business Law Section will present its the Dennis H. Replansky Memorial Award to Howard L. Meyers and the inaugural Albert S. Dandridge III Diversity Award to Leslie E. John at its Annual Dinner on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at Estia, 1405 Locust St.
Replansky, a former Business Law Section Chair, passed away in 1994 at the age of 51 and was among the Bar's most esteemed and beloved members. In 1997, the Section established the Award in recognition of his career as a lawyer and his contributions to legal, civic, religious and other charitable causes. Meyers, a partner with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, through his years of accomplishments and service, continues the line of award recipients who exemplify the abilities and qualities that honor Replansky's memory, and whose lives are exemplars to other lawyers.
John, a partner with Ballard Spahr LLP, will receive the inaugural Albert S. Dandridge III Business Law Section Diversity Award. The award is to publicly acknowledge, recognize and honor an individual or entity that has demonstrated a strong commitment, and has made a substantial contribution, to diversity; and promotes full and equal participation and inclusion in the legal profession. John's advocacy for women and diverse lawyers demonstrates her outstanding commitment to diversity and full and equal participation and inclusion in the legal profession.
The 2013 Chair of the Year is Jeffrey L. Vagle, chair of the Cyberspace and E-Commerce Committee. His commitment, leadership and industry are deeply appreciated by the Section and by those who have directly benefitted from the many programs offered by the Committee.
The 2013 Committee of the Year is the Small Business Committee, chaired by Katayun I. Jaffari. The Committee has put on fascinating and well-attended seminars that are a genuine boon to the Bar. The Section is enriched by such an active and productive committee.

The Justice Thurgood Marshall Award will be presented to Judge Lydia Y. Kirkland (Ret.). The Henry Czajowski Award will be given to Common Pleas Courtroom Operations Michael Spaziano, Chief, and Administrative Officers Michelle Arlene, Robert Busillo, Janette Coladonato, Gino Giacomucci and Michael Lanzalotti.
