The Philadelphia Bar Foundation is dedicated to promoting access to justice for all people in the community, particularly those struggling with poverty, abuse and discrimination. The Foundation is the embodiment of the Philadelphia legal community's commitment to this fundamental principle. We accomplish this mission by providing grants and technical assistance in support of quality legal services; addressing unmet legal needs and providing education on matters in the public interest. Advocates of JusticeThe highest category of giving for the Philadelphia Bar Foundation is the Advocates of Justice. Members of this elite group pledge a $25,000 donation, payable over three years. Currently there are 29 Members of the Advocates of Justice.Life Fellows of the Hamilton CircleCurrently there are 8 Members of the Life Fellows of the Hamilton Circle.Andrew Hamilton CircleThere are now 335 members of the Hamilton Circle. Find out how you can join and see who has already made the commitment to help keep the promise of equal justice for all.Young Lawyers Division Andrew Hamilton CircleIn addition, the Foundation proudly inaugurated the Young Lawyers Andrew Hamilton Circle in 2001. Currently, there are 35 members.Arbitration Fee Donation ProgramThrough its arbitration fee donation program, the Philadelphia Bar Foundation makes it easy for lawyers who volunteer as arbitrators in the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court to direct that all or part of their honorarium go to either the Bar Foundation or to Community Legal Services, Inc.Membership DriveThe Bar Foundation conducts an annual membership drive, the Access to Justice campaign. Individual attorneys can become members of the Bar Foundation through a $100 annual membership fee. Paralegals and other non-attorneys can become members for $50.Dues Check-OffEach year when attorneys are renewing their membership to the Philadelphia Bar Association, they can designate that an additional amount be added to their membership fee as a donation to the Bar Foundation.United Way PledgesWhen attorneys make their contribution to the United Way campaign, they can choose to support legal services in the greater Philadelphia area by selecting the Bar Foundation (and its 28 grantees) through the donor option process. The Bar Foundations donor number is 1578.Payroll DeductionAn easy and effective way to make a contribution to the Philadelphia Bar Foundation is through payroll deductions. A deduction of just a few dollars per week can amount to a significant contribution to legal services in the Philadelphia area.
