The Legal Rights of Contemporary Families Committee

The Legal Rights of Contemporary Families Committee will monitor cases and legislation at the local, state and national levels for developing issues in family law facing same-sex couples (both married and unmarried), unmarried heterosexual cohabitants, assisted reproductive technology issues, rights of third parties in custody and support cases such as in loco parentis parties and stepparents, and other non-traditional family structures. Also, we hope to explore ways to better protect the rights of these families in Pennsylvania through legislation and policy initiatives.
