Important Notice to the Bar & Judicial CandidatesTo the Bar: The Philadelphia Bar Association's Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention is presently distributing questionnaires to all members of the bar in Philadelphia regarding those incumbent judges who will be standing for retention election in November 2003.
Lawyers are urged to fill out the questionnaire and return it to ParenteRandolph, postmarked no later than Friday, March 28. If you have not received a questionnaire you may obtain one by either of the following methods:
- You may come to the Philadelphia Bar Association, 10th Fl., 1101 Market St., with the proper identification (Supreme Court attorney card) and receive a copy of the questionnaire from the Association.
- You may call the Philadelphia Bar Association (215) 238-6351 and provide your Supreme Court identification number over the telephone as well as your address and, upon verification, a ballot will be mailed to you.
To Judicial Candidates: The Philadelphia Bar Association's Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention evaluates the qualifications of individuals seeking appointment or election to the Court of Common Pleas or the Municipal Court of Philadelphia. Individuals who are considering filing for the May 2003 primary election should immediately contact the Commission on Judicial Selection & Retention c/o Areetha Carter, Esq., the Bar Association's Staff Counsel, to obtain a Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire and a copy of the Commission's guidelines and bylaws. Completed questionnaires should be returned by March 19 to "Judicial Commission" at 1101 Market St., 11th Fl., Philadelphia, PA 19107-2911. Candidates who have previously been evaluated by the Commission are invited to contact the Association to determine whether their ratings are current by calling Ms. Carter at (215) 238-6351.
