Bar Foundation Seeks Nominations for Morris Shuster Fellowships
The Philadelphia Bar Foundation is now accepting nominations for the Morris Shuster Fellowships. These fellowships seek to help alleviate law school debt for public interest attorneys. The deadline for applications is September 14th. The Fellowships will be awarded at the Hamilton Gala on November 17th.
The Morris M. Shuster Fellowship was established in 2003 as a result of a generous donation by Morris M. Shuster. Mr. Shuster's generous contribution inspired an anonymous donor to match that money in 2003 enabling the Bar Foundation to double the program's capacity. This program is intended to assist public interest lawyers who face large student loan obligations that threaten their ability to maintain their ongoing service as public interest attorneys. In 2006, at least two Shuster Fellowships, each for up to $5,000, will be awarded.
