Temple's Epps to Testify at Sotomayor Confirmation Hearings
Temple University Beasley School of Law Dean JoAnne Epps has been selected by the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify at Judge Sonia Sotomayor's confirmation hearings for the U.S. Supreme Court, which begin Monday, July 13. Epps, who was a co-chair of the National Association of Women Lawyers' Committee for the Evaluation of Supreme Court Nominees, is the only legal professional from Pennsylvania selected to testify. Epps will be a witness for the Democratic majority in support of Judge Sotomayor’s confirmation. In June, Epps was presented with the Philadelphia Bar Association's Sandra Day O'Connor Award and delivered the Judge A. Leon Higginbotham Jr. Memorial Public Interest Lecture.
