Join the Philadelphia Bar Association's Bar-News Media Committee and The Barristers' Association of Philadelphia for a panel titled "From O.J. to Bill Cosby: Race, Law and Media in the 21st Century" in the 11th Floor Conference Center on Tuesday, March 15 at 4 p.m. Panelists will include Christine Flowers, associate at Joseph M. Rollo & Associates, P.C.; Nikki Johnson-Huston, The Law Office of Nikki Johnson-Huston; Sayde J. Ladov, Past Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association and partner at Dolchin, Slotkin & Todd, P.C.; Kevin V. Mincey, partner at Mincey & Fitzpatrick, LLC; and moderated by Solomon Jones, host of "Wake Up With WURD" on 900AM WURD.

In 1995, the country was riveted by the O.J Simpson murder trial that became better known as the "Trial of the Century." The case forever changed how America viewed the legal system and how the media reported on race, crime and justice issues. Lawyers became respected commentators in media and news expanded into a 24-hour news cycle format. In 2016, the nation will again be riveted by the sexual abuse trial of "America's Dad," Philadelphia's own Bill Cosby. Join us for a town hall discussion of the intersection of race, law and media in both of these cases and how changes in traditional media and the increased importance of social media will influence the coverage in the upcoming Bill Cosby trial.

The Philadelphia Bar Association is located at 1101 Market St. This program is free for members and non-members of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Registration is required for all attendees. To register, click here.
