Bar-News Media Committee Presents Look at "Fair and Balanced" Journalism
The Philadelphia Bar Association's Bar-News Media Committee will co-sponsor "'Fair & Balanced'? -- Journalism May Never Be Truly Objective, But Is it Now Truly Over the Top?" on Wednesday, April 27 in partnership with the Philadelphia Public Relations Association (PPRA) and the Society for Professional Journalists (SPJ). The program will take place at Estia Restaurant, 1405 Locust St. in Philadelphia from Noon to 1:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. registration). Cynthia Sanz, Assistant Managing Editor of People magazine, will moderate and address how the changing media landscape alters the complex relationship between public relations and journalism. Panelists include Gina Furia Rubel, Esq., President/CEO, Furia Rubel Communications, Inc.; Michael Days, Managing Editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer; Kingsley Smith, Vice President of News & News Director, FOX 29 Philadelphia; and Michael Berry, Esq., Partner, Levine Sullivan Koch & Schulz, L.L.P.
