Bar Foundation Andrew Hamilton Gala Nov. 3 at Barnes in Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Bar Foundation will hold the 34th Andrew Hamilton Gala to honor and thank the many donors to the 2012 Access to Justice campaign on Saturday, Nov. 3. This effort supports civil legal services for low-income and disadvantaged people. The event features cocktails, dinner and dancing and will be held at the new Barnes in Philadelphia, 2025 Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Wendy Beetlestone, president of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and David Smith, chair of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, will give remarks during a short program. Schnader played an integral role in bringing the Barnes collection to Philadelphia in order to fulfill the Barnes Foundation’s goal of making the world-renowned art collection available to all. Guests of the Gala will be able to view the collection during the event.
Fox Rothschild LLP will receive the Pro Bono Award, honoring outstanding law firm pro bono efforts, and Mary Catherine Roper, senior staff attorney at ACLU of Pennsylvania, will receive the Philadelphia Bar Foundation Award, presented to an attorney in the nonprofit legal community whose work advances the cause of equal access to justice. The awards will be presented at a private reception preceding the Gala.
