Women's Rights Committee


The Women's Rights Committee addresses the legal needs and rights of women on a local, state, federal and international level. In particular, the committee focuses on such important issues as reproductive rights, domestic abuse and equality in the justice system. The committee monitors legislation and offers educational programs involving women's rights.  

Recent Update

We are pleased to report that on April 28, 2011, the Board of Governors passed our Resolution Supporting Legislation To Require the Posting of Information Relating to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline in Certain Establishments ("National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline Act"). The Resolution had the support of the Public Interest Section, the Criminal Justice Section, the Family Law Section and the Young Lawyers Division. A copy of the Resolution can be found at:

Please Support Legislation to Build a National Women’s History Museum in Washington, D.C.

Legislation has been introduced in both the House (H.B. 1269) and Senate (S. 680) for the construction of The National Women’s History Museum in Washington, D.C. Co-sponsorship of this legislation has increased from 47 to 64 Representatives over the past 60 days; Pennsylvania is not a co-sponsor of this legislation.
