Probate and Trust Law
A Message from the Chair of the Section
Welcome to the Probate and Trust Law Section. First created in 1975, we are celebrating our 45th year in the oldest Bar Association in the country. Since our creation, we have served as a forum for our members to discuss probate, wills, trusts, guardianship, and estate law issues.
Our Section is instrumental in formulating probate and trust laws on a statewide basis, educating and developing resources for practitioners to aid them in the practice of probate and trust law, mentoring young lawyers, and serving the needs of the public at large.
We look forward to you joining our listserv, subscribing to our calendar and podcasts, attending the regular meetings of any of our ten committees, and becoming a part of our Section.

Call to Action
VIP is in need of volunteers and mentors for estate planning, guardianship, and especially probate/estate administration matters (where the only asset in the estate is the home in which the client lives). VIP is the agency of last resort for low-income Philadelphians and consistently receives more requests for assistance than the current pool of volunteers can handle. Attorneys are needed to represent clients or to serve as mentors to other volunteers who do not have expertise in these areas. Please reach out to VIP staff attorney Mike Jones at (215) 523-9561 or firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how you can help serve clients in need.
