John S. Bradway High School Mock Trial Competition February 2019
It is once again time for the John S. Bradway High School Mock Trial Competition, and organizers need your help to make this year another success. The Young Lawyers Division and Temple University Beasley School of Law team up each year to host this competition.
Each spring, students from approximately 30-40 public, private and parochial schools are given the opportunity play the roles of attorneys and witnesses in a fictitious criminal or civil case, focusing on real legal issues. We hope that you will join us for an experience that is rewarding for both our volunteer judges and our students. You can sign up to judge as many trials as you would like. Each trial will require only a 2 to 3-hour time commitment.

Liberty & Justice: Moving From Some to ALL Feb. 8 (5 CLE Credits Avail.)
Join us for Liberty & Justice Conference: Moving from Some to All, on Friday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., at Thomas R. Kline Institute of Trial Advocacy. The Philadelphia Bar Association and Philadelphia area law schools are again bringing together practitioners, law students and community activists from throughout the region to discuss issues of importance in social justice lawyering. This second annual conference will feature progressive, social justice advocates from the Philadelphia area gathered to address critical topics in social justice lawyering, such as, legalized exclusion - the racial wealth divide, human toll of U.S. immigration policies, ethics and lawyer activism, criminal justice reform, LGBT youth in foster care and homelessness, restorative justice, participatory defense and more. Experienced Mass Tort Attorneys Needed for LRIS Referrals
The Philadelphia Bar Association's Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) has expanded its Product Liability panels in order to better meet the needs of clients requiring assistance with injuries resulting from the use of Paxil, Reglan, Risperdal, Xarelto, Yaz, pelvic mesh or talc.
If you have significant experience litigating any of these matters, we invite you to join LRIS. Attorneys wishing to receive referrals for claims involving Paxil, Reglan, Risperdal, Xarelto, Yaz, pelvic mesh or talc must represent, or have represented, at least 12 plaintiffs in civil actions involving the same product brought in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and must have completed a minimum of five hours of CLE in trial tactics, products liability or class actions within the past three years.
