Our city's students need us! In continuation of Chancellor Dandridge's Boots on the Ground community service initiative, the Business Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association will be sponsoring the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program at Richmond School, an underserved public elementary school located in the Port Richmond area of Philadelphia. The PBIS program is an evidence-based framework that encourages students to create a social culture in schools that will inspire positive behavior and interactions, while discouraging problem behaviors. This positive social culture will lead to a safer environment where students achieve academically and build positive relationships with each other and with adults. However, the PBIS program at the Richmond School is underfunded, and they need support from businesses and professionals in Philadelphia to continue to promote the positive school climate.
