Domestic Violence Committee

The Domestic Violence Committee serves the Philadelphia Bar Association's Family Law Section by informing its members about legal issues related to family violence. Family violence is a serious problem, both nationally and locally, affecting many adults and children in our community. More than 14,000 Protection From Abuse Petitions are filed each year in Philadelphia County by abused individuals.

The Domestic Violence Committee reviews legislation and drafts resolutions relevant to family violence, works with other Bar Association committees to increase awareness about domestic violence issues, encourages and promotes court reform to improve court access and treatment for domestic violence survivors, and presents educational programs about family violence.

We welcome your suggestions, comments and participation.
