Third Circuit Judicial Conference to be Held Nov. 11-13The Sixty-First Judicial Conference will be held from Sunday, Nov. 11 through Tuesday, Nov. 13th at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia. This Conference is open to all attorneys in the Third Circuit.
The Conference will address issues of importance to the administration of justice in the Third Circuit and in the federal courts nationwide. The Task Force on Selection of Class Counsel will present its preliminary report after having received presentations at public hearings from judges, professors and attorneys from across the country. The Conference will also have panels on the impact of discovery changes under the recent amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure; on the importance of the record at sentencing in criminal cases; the use and abuse of summary judgment motions; privacy issues in an electronic age; and the pending bankruptcy bill. The Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board has accredited each session of the Conference for a total of 7.0 CLE credits.
