Ronald K. Noble to Deliver Keynote at June 2 Quarterly; O'Connor Award to Carol E. Tracy
Join the Philadelphia Bar Association for its 2017 June Quarterly Meeting & Reception at Hyatt at The Bellevue on Friday, June 2 at 12 p.m. Former Secretary General of Interpol and law clerk to Judge Higginbotham, Ronald K. Noble, will deliver the Judge A. Leon Higginbotham Jr. Memorial Public Interest Lecture.
Noble began his career in Philadelphia 35 years ago with his two-year clerkship for Hon. A. Leon Higginbotham Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. After completing a long career in public service, Noble founded RKN Global DWC-LLC in Dubai and just this year he joined as senior counsel the firm of Freeh, Sullivan and Sporkin, LLP, founded by former FBI Director and federal judge Louis J. Freeh.
The 2017 Sandra Day O'Connor Award will be presented to Carol E. Tracy, executive director of the Women's Law Project. The Sandra Day O'Connor Award is presented to a woman attorney who has demonstrated superior legal talent, achieved significant legal accomplishments and has furthered the advancement of women in both the profession and the community.
Carol E. Tracy has lead major legal victories on the national scale in women's reproductive rights, violence against women and other areas of women's rights, including serving as co-counsel in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Planned Parenthood v. Casey. As a board member of Women Against Abuse, the organization named its new women's shelter "Carol's Place" in her honor in 2014.
New members of the Association's 50-, 60-, 65-Year Clubs will also be honored at the meeting. The Year Clubs recognize attorneys who have been practicing law for 50 years or more. Click here to purchase tickets.
