Renew Your Membership Today!
It is that time of year when we ask you to renew your membership in the nation's oldest association of lawyers. Your membership dues are the lifeblood of our Association, and have not been increased in over seven years. The 2017 PA Senate will be veto-proof so the Bar Association will need to be particularly active on your behalf this year fighting against the sales tax on legal services, and fighting for legislation that improves the laws of our Commonwealth. Additionally, it will be a busy year for the Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention in its evaluation of judicial candidates for our state appellate courts and local trial courts.
Renew today. We look forward to your continued membership and welcome your ideas and suggestions on ways to improve our work.

Volunteers Needed for High School Mock Trials
The John S. Bradway High School Mock Trial Competition is in need of attorneys to serve as judges for this year's competition. The mock trials will take place over the course of various evenings in February and March at the Criminal Justice Center or federal courthouse, with the first round beginning this Friday, Feb. 3.
You can sign up for one or more timeslots at PhiladelphiaBar.org. Please consider helping with this important initiative, which helps to teach high schoolers about our justice system.
Volunteer Investigators Needed for Judicial Commission
The Philadelphia Bar Association's Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention evaluates judicial candidates and provides ratings to help voters make decisions about candidates for judicial office in our courts. The Commission is currently in need of volunteer attorneys to serve as investigators and help conduct diligence on judicial candidates for the upcoming 2017 election cycle.
This is a great opportunity to be involved in one of the Association's most important functions. If you are interested, please email Charlie Klitsch at cklitsch@philabar.org.
