YLD-Law Student Outreach Networking Happy Hour July 20
The YLD will welcome the next class of Philadelphia Bar Association members at the YLD-Law Student Networking Happy Hour at U-BAHN on Thursday, July 20. The first 60 people to arrive will receive a drink ticket and there will also be appetizers and drink specials. All law students are welcome to attend and network with Philadelphia attorneys and learn more about what the Philadelphia Bar Association and YLD have to offer.

Survey: Why Do Young People Sit out Elections in Philadelphia?
In the 2017 municipal primary election, only 1 in 5 Philadelphians between the ages of 18 and 35 voted. Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP) is surveying city residents about which elections they vote in, their reasons for not voting and whether they plan to vote in the upcoming municipal election in November. The results of this survey will be used to help YIP improve its "Get Out the Vote" efforts.

The Challenge Ahead: Access to Justice - Public Interest Organization Volunteer Opportunities
The Philadelphia Bar Association's new pro bono volunteerism initiative "The Challenge Ahead: Access to Justice" provides opportunities for Association members and beyond to help people in need by providing limited legal representation, education, advice and advocacy. This one-stop-shop allows the city's legal-aid nonprofit organizations to know who is interested in assisting by giving volunteers the opportunity to add their name to a list for these groups to access if they need additional support for a particular cause.
